On May 27th, 2006 Put On Your Drinking Cap put on a free show to celebrate our 10th release in less than two years. Set at the beautiful Catherine North studio it was an intimate (and sweaty!) evening featuring Matt Paxton and Astroknaughts. Here are some photos of the Astroknaughts set.

Christopher Eckart and i.martron bravely explored the Casbah Lounge last Wednesday. Chris opted for a country set with Andrew Eckart backing him up on upright bass. They played a few Hank Williams Sr. songs followed by one Chris wrote about him. Sweet Melody is about the end of Hank Williams life and I'm pretty sure was only ever released on the Christopher Eckart 100% cassette that Chris released between Garbagedrink and Zildo Ildo. They also performed veteran songs like The Sun in Your Eyes and the newest gospel-inspired song Will I be Ignored by the Lord? from his last album Elegy for Diamond Lake.
i.martron released a beta version of a new musical experiment that shows great promise. They replaced most of the sounds in the video game Counter-Strike: Source with assorted song and found noise samples. If you're intrigued I'm sure their next performance will be even more interesting.

Steven McKay played a quick set of music from his new EP Whistle at Binary on Nov 12, 2005. Backed by the capable Billy Holmes on drums, Chris Eckart on bass, and Martin Eckart on the synth-substituting clarinet and fighting against the Gods of technical difficulty he maintained his equilibrium and the audience enjoyed the benefits. They switched up and Chris also played a few songs from his last album Elegy for Diamond Lake.
Binary is every Sunday night at Absinthe in Hamilton and features local and visiting underground talent and an audience of kooky music-lovers. Check it out!

The Sweet Homewreckers celebrate the release of their album From the Letdown to the Comearound in the Hammer with Matt Paxton & The Mountain and Matthew DeZoete. This was December 30th, 2006; the second night of a two-day mad DCAP festival at the Casbah.
Photos by Meg Paxton. Thanks!

Zildo Ildo's last concert ever was a brilliant performance at the old La Luna. I'd recount the details but they're lost to time in some backwater archive of my mind. It's possible that I brought Chris a winter coat that I found on the street. It's possible that we played to a packed club full of screaming fans. Everything is possible.
